This course is suitable for the beginner to advanced levels that wish to explore different types of media and approaches to drawing as well as painting.

Designed for the beginner/intermediate student in mind (age 12+), this workshop continues to reinforce many of the most
important steps, concepts, and aesthetic principles towards a creative practice in drawing and painting. Under the guidance
of Carlos Gallostra, the student will develop a master copy derived from the works of Impressionist artists Joaquin Sorolla
and John Singer Sargent. Through these studies, students will establish key steps and stages to develop master copies
focused on composition, form, light, color, mark and aesthetic.

Share and get creative along with other fellow artists under the guidance of Carlos Gallostra in our live six-day Painting Studio: From Portraits to Florals.
Designed for beginners and seasoned artists alike, this figurative painting workshop positions the participant to explore subject matter ranging from portraits, landscapes, and florals. Using your own photo reference as the muse, you will learn how to effectively develop your subject in oil paint through tailored mentoring and critiquing. Students already working in acrylic are also welcomed.
The workshop introduces the student to a step-by-step process that facilitates capturing the subject from the initial contour to the fully rendered form in tonal value and color. Topics discussed will range from ideas on observation, measurement, color mixing and expressive mark making. Through in depth investigation, the students will employ a signature approach towards crafting their own masterwork.

Designed for beginners and advanced alike, this workshop challenges students to develop their own master copy of floral studies created by 19th century artists Monet, Van Gogh, Cassatt and other fellow Impressionists. Employing a direct and loose manner in mark making, students will make an impression through their study and within the same breath, grasp a stronger understanding in principles of design, color theory, and composition. Students may choose to interpret their master copy in a wide range of media, including oil, acrylic, as well as pastel.

Designed for beginners and seasoned artists alike, this figurative painting workshop positions the participant to explore subject matter ranging from portraits, landscapes, and florals. Using your own photo reference as the muse, you will learn how to effectively develop your subject in oil paint through tailored mentoring and critiquing. Students already working in acrylic are also welcomed.
The workshop introduces the student to a step-by-step process that facilitates capturing the subject from the initial contour to the fully rendered form in tonal value and color. Topics discussed will range from ideas on observation, measurement, color mixing and expressive mark making. Through in depth investigation, the students will employ a signature approach towards crafting their own masterwork.

It’s Mango Season! Come take advantage of this wonderful time of the year by relaxing and capturing a little bit of mango magic with us! Join our workshop and learn how to create colorfully vivid paintings from a variety of mangos. With the direction of Carlos Gallostra you will develop dynamic illustrative compositions from life in color pencils, watercolor, or mixtures of both. Learn and master techniques including layering, blending, and color mixing. All levels are welcome!

Instructor Bios: C.S. Orchids is a family-owned and operated orchid sales and maintenance company founded by Carlos and Carmen Segrera. Carlos is past President of the Pan American Orchid Society and Coalition of Orchid Species, and a member of the South Florida Orchid Society, Eastern Airlines Orchid Club and the American Orchid Society. Carmen is currently a member of several orchid societies where she shares her knowledge and appreciation of orchids and keeps abreast of all information involving the cultivation and preservation of orchids. She has won numerous awards for her orchid plants and show theme displays. In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her private collection of more than 2,000 orchid plants, including several bearing her name.

Rembrandt, Velazquez, Zorn and other artists alike owe much to Apelles of Kos, a master artist in his own right who championed the classic four-color palette of Yellow Ochre, Red, White as well as Black and brought forth lasting contributions to the arts. This workshop is designed for all levels, so come join us and take your skill sets further under the direction of Carlos Gallostra. With just a simplified palette of four pigments, you will learn to mix a wide spectrum of hues and capture the essence of a friend and loved one.

Designed for the beginner/intermediate student in mind (age 12+), this workshop continues to reinforce many of the most important steps, concepts, and aesthetic principles towards a creative practice in drawing and painting. Under the guidance of Carlos Gallostra, the student will develop a master copy derived from the works of Impressionist artists Joaquin Sorolla
and John Singer Sargent. Through these studies, students will establish key steps and stages to develop master copies focused on composition, form, light, color, mark and aesthetic.
