Registration and Payment
All classes can be booked online through our website. Early registration is encouraged, as many classes fill quickly.
Registration is primarily online. However, if you need assistance, our team is happy to help by phone or email during business hours.
While some classes include all supplies, such as parent-and-me painting or culinary workshops, others may require students to bring their own materials. Supply lists, either required or recommended, are provided in the class description.
We are unable to provide yoga mats.
You can join the waitlist by emailing education@fairchildgarden.org. Please include your name, phone number, and the class you are interested in attending. If a space opens, we will contact the next person on the list.

Same-day registration is sometimes possible for lecture-style classes but is often not available for workshops or classes that require a supply list.
Ticket Policies
Tickets are nonrefundable. Each registration directly supports our instructors and programs, and your understanding helps us continue offering diverse classes year-round.
Outside of the summer and winter holiday periods, we do not prorate or credit missed classes.
However, if you experience illness, a family emergency, or another unavoidable conflict, please contact us at education@fairchildgarden.org. We may be able to offer an accommodation or apply your credit toward another session.
Yes. If you cannot attend, you may send someone in your place. Please email us their name and contact information as soon as possible before class so we can update the roster. Your guest may notify the Garden staff of their attendance by using your name.
If you’ve canceled your registration and the class still has an open seat, we may be able to reinstate your ticket. However, once a registration has been canceled and the seat has been released, we cannot guarantee re-enrollment. All requests are handled on a space-available basis. Please email education@fairchildgarden.org as soon as possible to check availability.
Credits and ticket rescheduling are permitted only within the Classes at Fairchild program’s offerings. Ticket costs cannot be applied toward membership, merchandise, or other Garden events or programs.
Cancellations and Weather
In the event a class must be canceled or rescheduled by the Garden, you will be notified by email. You will then have the option to receive a full refund or transfer your ticket to a future session.
We’ll email all registered participants as soon as a decision is made. Please make sure your contact information is accurate and up to date.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is both a center for plant research, conservation, and science education, as well as a vibrant community space where people come together to enjoy family-friendly events and the beauty of tropical gardening.
The Classes at Fairchild Program supports the Garden’s mission to harness the power of plants for humankind and share the beauty of tropical gardening with everyone.
If you would like to propose a class, we welcome you to email your idea to education@fairchildgarden.org. Please include:
Your goals for the session
A brief outline of what participants will do and learn
How your class connects to horticulture, art, culinary, wellness, or lifestyle programming
Any sample materials (handouts, slides, activities) if available
A short summary of your relevant experience
We welcome instructors with strong subject knowledge, whether they are career educators, business owners, working artists, or community educators. Formal teaching credentials are welcome but not required.
Please note: All classes go through an internal review to ensure the subject matter supports the Garden’s mission. We do not accept proposals centered on product promotion or topics outside the scope of our educational programs. Culinary and wellness classes should highlight creativity, hands-on learning, and a connection to nature, not medical or therapeutic instruction. Classes on nutrition must be led by a registered dietitian or other credentialed professional.
