Muhly grass grows naturally in many of our local habitats including beach dunes, coastal grassland, and pine forest. It is one of the best and easiest native plants to grow in South Florida gardens. A lovely grass throughout the year, it puts on a spectacular show in autumn as it forms light, feathery stalks of tiny pink flowers. When it’s blooms are illuminated by sunlight, it creates a uniquely beautiful pink-purple haze.
