Range: Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
Guavas originated here in the Caribbean region but are now enjoyed worldwide. Cultivated for thousands of years, they are a valuable commercial crop and a popular backyard garden plant. Here in South Florida, guavas are an important component of Cuban pastries and have many other culinary uses.
