Challenge 1: Connect to Protect Network – Recruitment Poster

For Individuals or Groups (2–5 students per group) — Maximum points: 600 (100 per entry; 2 entries per level)

YOUR CHALLENGE: Less than 2% of the pine rocklands remain outside of Everglades National Park making it one of the most globally imperiled ecosystems. Much of what remains today exists as only fragmented parcels across Miami and The Keys. Fairchild’s own Connect to Protect Network encourages families, schools and local businesses to plant pine rockland gardens to help connect seed dispersers and pollinators. The goal of this conservation program is to improve the genetic health of plant species by connecting these remaining isolated patches across urban areas. Students will create a promotional poster to recruit participants to act as community scientists by joining Connect to Protect Network. Downloadable PDF
