Challenge 2: Growing Beyond Earth®

For Individuals or Groups (2–5 students per group) — Maximum points: 600 (100 per entry; 2 entries per level)

YOUR CHALLENGE: For the last seven years, astronauts have been tending to a small garden on the International Space Station called Veggie. They have grown all kinds of plants including fresh greens to eat and colorful flowers to brighten their days if they are missing home. As NASA prepares to send astronauts to the moon, Mars, and beyond they will need to grow fresh vegetables and edible flowers along the way to keep them happy and healthy.
