Challenge 1C: A Seed’s Journey – Comic Strip
(4th and 5th Grade)

For Individuals or Groups (2–5 students per group) — Maximum points: 200 (100 per entry; 2 entries per school)

YOUR CHALLENGE: Seeds are the main characters in the story of a plant’s life cycle. Just as seeds come in different shapes and sizes, their journey to plant-hood is equally as varied. Regardless of how a plant comes to be, all seeds must undergo the process of germination. To explore the importance of seeds, students will create an illustrated story explaining one of the main stages of a seed’s journey. Downloadable PDF
