Challenge 3C: Miami, My Garden – Cultural Gardens
(4th and 5th Grade)

YOUR CHALLENGE:

Miami is like a big quilt made of pieces of cultures from around the world. Every family and community brings special traditions that make our city unique. The cool thing about these traditions is that many use plants in fun and important ways.

For this challenge, we ask you to think of an important place in your community where people come together and imagine it like a garden. Maybe your hub is the playground, a community center, a church or a skate park! Draw a picture of the place you have in mind with plants taking the spotlight. Include yourself in the drawing doing something you enjoy at the place you have in mind. Describe what the community space means to you using 50-100 words and how it would look with plants as main characters. Don’t forget to include a title! Download PDF for this info on one page
