Educator Challenge: A Year of Service

For Individuals or Groups — 50 bonus points (Maximum 1 entry per school)

YOUR CHALLENGE:
Educators! We know how hard you work to promote environmental stewardship inside and outside of your classroom. The impact you have on your students is immeasurable. For this year’s educator challenge, we are asking you to share the ways that you incorporate service learning and environmental stewardship inside and outside of your classroom. Whether you participate in days of service with your students, or develop longer term sustainability programs in your school, we want to know about how you are inspiring the next generations of changemakers! ENTRY SUBMISSION: Monday, March 4, 2024 to Sunday, March 10, 2024

Electronically submit the following:

Uploaded PDF file to entry form includes:

  • Documentation and summary of service learning/environmental steward projects with a short reflection OR 
  • A short proposal for a service learning or environmental stewardship project you would like to complete this year
✓  Entry Requirements:
 Digital Entry of the written summary and supplemental materials in the form of a pdf uploaded as one document to the entry form.
 

Short written summary, 300-500 words, describing the following: the location of the project, how many individuals (students, teachers, staff, and/or families) were involved, days and times project was completed with an estimated number of hours, impact on students and their learning, the short-and long-term impacts on the environment, and the impact on yourself as an educator.

 

OPTIONAL supplemental materials may include but are not limited to: Photos of the event and participants, news articles and/or social media posts about the activity, lesson plans showcasing how the event or project was incorporated into your curriculum, or a thank you letter from the field site. 

 On-time entry submission. Late entries will be accepted with a reduction in points.
