Fairchild’s Orchid Collection and The National Orchid Garden

Fairchild takes great pride in being the home of the National Orchid Garden, the American Orchid Society, and the AOS Library Collection, making our orchid collection one of the largest globally.

Our orchid collection, renowned globally, is not just extensive but also boasts some of the rarest species on the planet. As a testament to our commitment to biodiversity, Fairchild is actively involved in the Million Orchid Project. This groundbreaking urban conservation initiative seeks to reintroduce one million orchids to South Florida.

Our Orchids in Bloom festival celebrates this staggeringly beautiful and popular plant while sharing its important role in our ecology and throughout Miami.

Be sure to look for orchids throughout the Garden, especially the vining vanilla orchid, from where vanilla beans are harvested!
