Amy Padolf is the Director of Education at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami, FL where she oversees national and international multidisciplinary environmental science education programs for pre-kindergarten through post graduate studies as well as teacher professional development, adult education and community gardening. She holds a BA in Rhetoric from the University of Pittsburgh and a MS in Science Education from Duquesne University.
For more than 18 years Amy has been working in informal education; beginning her career in conservation and research of African elephants and as the Director of Education at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to coming to Fairchild, Amy was the Director of Operations at the Miami Children’s Museum. Additionally, she has taught in the classroom as an elementary and middle school science teacher and as an adjunct professor in the Graduate Education Department of Chatham College in Pittsburgh, PA. She currently is an active member of the Cultural Educators of Miami’s Steering Committee and the Chair for the Education Section of the American Public Garden Association.
