Summer Camp Information and FAQs

What if there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 among the children, staff, or families?

In the event of a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 positive individual, we will take prompt action in defining those individuals that came into close contact with the person (within 6 ft. for more than 15 minutes). This will allow for contact tracing, isolation, and additional health monitoring.

If a staff/camper is identified with possible COVID-19 they will not be permitted to return without a doctor’s clearance and a note. Parents of campers within close contact will be notified if a camper or staff member was sent home and asked to monitor their child. If a confirmed case of COVID-19 is identified, we will communicate to parents if their child was within close contact of the confirmed positive individual as well as work with local and state health organizations.

Parental Communication

There will be communications to parents to keep them up to date on any summer camp updates such as closures, health risks, or emergencies. Avenues of communication include the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden camp website, Brightwheel application, and a reminder email sent before the week of camp starts.
