Pink trumpet tree

Tabebuia heterophylla

Range: West Indies

This is a spectacular flowering tree that bears masses of pink, trumpet-shaped flowers in springtime. Native to Caribbean islands, it adapts well to South Florida’s growing conditions, tolerating poor, dry soil. It is mostly grown as an ornamental street tree or shade tree, and it performs well in urban environments. In its native range it is sometimes harvested as a source of timber.
