Tabebuia aurea

Range: South America

This is one of the most spectacular flowering trees of the tropics. Native to South America, it is now popular worldwide as an urban street tree. It is small to medium-sized, with tough, gray, gnarled branches. It often loses its leaves during our winter dry season and blooms spectacularly just before the springtime rains begin. The flowers are bright yellow and trumpet shaped.
