European fan palm

Chamaerops humilis

Range: Mediterranean coasts of Europe and North Africa

This is one of the world’s most durable and widely grown palms, native to the rugged, windblown Mediterranean coastlines of Europe and North Africa. It grows slowly and remains smaller than most of the tropical palms we grow here in South Florida. With its small and tidy crown of stiff leaves it is particularly suited to home gardens and formal landscapes.

Palma de abanico europea

Chamaerops humilis

Range: Mediterranean coasts of Europe and North Africa
