Bamboo palm

Chamaedorea seifrizii

Range: Mexico and Central America

This is an attractive, slender palm with clustering stems that look remarkably like canes of bamboo. A popular houseplant, the bamboo palm also grows well outdoors in shade. It forms dense, shrublike clumps to about 10’ tall. There are many species of Chamaedorea, all from tropical America, including several notable houseplants and garden plants.
