The world’s most popular tropical fruit, bananas are easy to grow here in South Florida and the Caribbean. The plant is not a tree, but really a giant herb. There are hundreds of different kinds of bananas grown worldwide with different flavors, colors, sizes, and shapes.  Only a few varieties are grown commercially, including this one, which has an excellent flavor and relatively compact growth.
