Every Thursday, May 12 – June 23, 2022 | 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Designed for beginners and advanced artists alike, this workshop challenges students to use the visual language and expressive style of 19th century Impressionist artists including Cassatt, Monet, and Van Gogh in their own artworks. During the first part of the workshop, students will begin by reproducing a small master copy of a floral study by an Impressionist artist.
Afterwards, students will be encouraged to apply what they learned through the experience towards their own artwork. In the follow up project, students can take advantage of using references from the many blooms nestled throughout our garden. Students may choose to interpret their master copy in a wide range of media, including oil, acrylic, as well as pastel.
The program fee does not include materials. A list of suggested supplies is provided in the confirmation email sent upon registration.
