Everything we love about cocoa – from chocolate bars and bonbons to cacao nibs and mocha – all come from the fruit of the cacao tree. You may have seen the gorgeously multicolored, oval fruit pods hanging from our very own cacao trees throughout Fairchild!
While it’s certainly possible to grow cacao in South Florida, it does take a bit of planning, patience, and know-how. We’re excited to announce that Julian Lara of Lara Farms Nursery brings his expertise on growing healthy, beautiful fruit trees for South Floridian climates. Come with questions and even photos of your own projects.
Ticket Rates
A ticket to this class grants you entry to A Festival of Chocolate at no additional charge. Classes have limited capacity, and day-of sales may not be possible.
Members $35
Non-members $45
Tickets are nonrefundable. This class runs rain or shine. Please carefully read your confirmation email, as it details important information regarding parking and entry to the Garden.
