Saturday, November 20, 2021 | 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Few flowering plants can compete against the notable impressions of Amorphophallus. Learn about these amazing plants and their alternative approach to attracting pollinators. Observe their beautiful color palette across dozens of species, understand their growth cycle from seed to bloom, and get the basics of how to care for them in your own garden.

Instructor Bio: David Hernandez has been growing Amorphophallus for over ten years in South Florida, an interest sparked after experiencing Mr. Stinky’s bloom firsthand in 2003. He returned to Fairchild again earlier this year to assist with pollen collection of another Amorphophallus titanum in bloom. In recent years he has merged his love of nature and technology into a passion project known as LeafGardens, bringing the odder side of nature to the forefront and encouraging environmental conservation through practical education in various formats.
