Learn the basics of pet portrait photography with the Garden as your backdrop! We learn how to about posing your pooch, how to use natural light and shade to get the best exposure of your dog, and we will learn how to photograph black dogs, Jaime’s number one client question! Bring your pooch, your camera with the widest aperture (1.4-5.6 is perfect), and some of your dog’s favorite treats.

We ask that you please bring a camera as well as water for both you and your dog. This class takes place outside. You may enjoy the Garden with your dog/s after the class has ended, until 10 AM at no additional charge.

Instructor Bio: Jaime Seymour-Newton is an award-winning Certified Professional Photographer with 20 years of experience working as a photographer, with a specialty in animal and family portraiture. She teaches photography at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and has her own private teaching studio. In this class, Jaime is assisted by professional dog trainer, Brian Galea, to help teach techniques that can get you the perfect picture.

SIGN THE DOG WAIVER

Please note: Humans must sign a dog waiver, and all dogs must remain on leashes while enjoying the Garden. You will receive the waiver in your ticket purchase confirmation email. Humans are responsible for picking up after their fur babies. Please bring collection bags.
