Myrmecophila
The name Myrmecophila is derived from the word ‘myrmecophile’ or ant-loving, and refers to the symbiotic relationship with colonies of ants that are usually found living in the large, hollowed-out stems. These orchids thrive in very hot and arid condidtions.
