Fakahatchee grass

Range: Eastern USA to South America

Eastern gamagrass, also called Fakahatchee grass, is native to South Florida and widespread through the eastern United States to South America. It occurs naturally in wet areas, but is adaptable to many different growing conditions. It is an attractive accent plant in the landscape, and is widely grown as a forage plant for livestock.
